  • Checking ID cards : check the documents against the database to make sure they are authentic.
  • Check apartment numbers: make sure each resident is where they are supposed to be.
  • Phone calls : confirm residents' arrival by calling the numbers listed in their profiles

This fictional organization plays a key role in the game's plot. In 1955, doppelgangers have become a real threat. You, playing as the doorman of an apartment building, must check everyone who wants to enter to identify imposters. Your job is to use clues and strict protocols to protect the real tenants, or call the D.D.D. for help.

Doppelgangers

The main antagonists of the game are creatures known as doppelgangers. They are able to mimic humans perfectly, copying appearance, voice, and even memories. Their motives remain a mystery, but their presence threatens the safety of the inhabitants of the house, and you personally.

Tools

Before you start your shift, familiarize yourself with the tools in your compact office. They will become your arsenal against the threat of doppelgangers:

  • Phone: Contact your D.D.D. employer for clarification and instructions.
  • Checklists: Record each visitor's details, including personal and job information.
  • Security window: Watch for potential abusers. Pay attention to extra eyes, unusual openings, and other suspicious signs.
  • Allow/Disallow Entry buttons: Make informed choices to avoid dire consequences.
  • Folders: Sort completed forms into labeled folders for each floor.
  • Emergency Button: If you are certain you have encountered a doppelganger, press this button to alert D.D.D. and destroy the impostor.
  • Trapdoor: Obtain documents from visitors through the trapdoor under the window, avoiding direct contact.
